Fortnite used to launder money

Fortnite is one of the most popular massive multiplayer online games, so it is no wonder that it has been used by for some people for illicit purposes.

In the recently discovered instance, stolen credit cards were used to purchase Fortnite’s in-game currency with a discount and sell it to users for Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash, which allowed the perpetrators to earn at least $250,000.

In the future, if blockchain games succeed, this issue may become even more hotly-debated as some people will surely demand regulation and the extension of KYC-AML procedures to in-game ecosystems.
